Yes! I'm finally getting a new poem out. Over the past 45 minutes or so I started writing a poem for the new baby and it's not done yet and I don't want to post too much of it because I'm saving it for the slam but here is a little taste...
"And although your neck will not yet allow you I want to teach you to hold your head up high.
To uncurl those legs, as you have entered a world where a woman's worth is determined by how little space she can take up, and so I want you to sprawl because the world needs more of you."
Hopefully I can get this somewhere around the length of a slam piece (3 minutes) and get it memorized in time for the slam.

I wish I was close enough to come to these Slam things - admittedly I haven't the foggiest as to what a Slam really is. But just know, if I was around, I would come cause I think you've taken e.e cummings' place as my favourite poet.
